A woman in Nigeria was convicted by the court after stealing two towels from Transcorp Hilton Abuja
Hotel in Nigeria’s capital. A security guard caught the women as she was trying to leave the hotel.
The women (Bilikisu Dowodu), had inside her bag, two towels, a hand towel and a face towel, and also a pressing iron. The trial decided that the women had to pay a considerable amount of money of 20$, or she had to spend 3 months in jail.
When asked about this story, on the reasons they led her to steal, she said that the bag wasn’t her. According to her version, it was in fact of a friend of her, who asked Bilikisu to carry her bag out of the hotel, but she didn’t know what was really inside.
Now, after everything that happened, after the arrested, she attempted to call her friend back the other women refused her call, and even turned her phone off.
