Another 'ice bar' coming to the high seas

Could a cruise line soon have the coolest nightspot in Miami?
Norwegian Cruise Line says its soon-to-debut Norwegian Getaway, which will be based year-round in the city, will feature an "ice bar" kept at 17 degrees Fahrenheit. Located on deck eight of the 4,028-passenger vessel, the Art Deco-styled lounge will feature South Florida-inspired elements such as South Beach's iconic Ocean Drive skyline and palm trees etched into its icy walls, and a life-size alligator throne made entirely of ice.

The room's bar area, seating and glasses also will be made out of ice. Customers will be given hooded coats and gloves to keep warm during visits. The venue exclusively will serve Svedka vodka and Inniskillin ice wine and be called the SVEDKA/Inniskillin Ice Bar. The outlet is the third of its kind at the line. Norwegian unveiled the first ice bar at sea in 2010 on the 4,100-passenger Norwegian Epic. There's also an ice bar on the line's four-month-old Norwegian Breakaway. A sister to the Norwegian Breakaway, the Norwegian Getaway is scheduled to sail year-round to the Eastern Caribbean out of Miami.

New in New York: Elevated park, Lady Liberty reopening

From the reincarnation of an old rail line to the reopening of Lady Liberty, the Big Apple is celebrating some big doings this summer.

All aboard to an oasis of green:

This week, an unused stretch of elevated-rail tracks was christened as The High Line, a landscaped public park that extends from the Meatpacking District to Chelsea on Manhattan's West Side. Built in the 1930s to take dangerous freight trains off the city's streets and virtually abandoned nearly 30 years ago, it now offers strollers (no bikes or skateboards allowed) a lofty urban oasis. Lady Liberty in tip-top shape:

Starting Saturday, Ellis Island's Statue of Liberty crown — which reopens July 4 for the first time since 9/11 — will accept reservations for the 354-step climb to the top. The $3 tickets will be combined with reserved ferry tickets, which cost $12 for adults. JetBlue Plans New York JFK-Jamaica Service this Fall

JetBlue Airways has announced plans to begin new service to Kingston, Jamaica -- its 14th international destination -- this fall. The airline expects to serve Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport with daily nonstop service to/from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, with onward connecting service available to cities across the United States. JetBlue's flights to the Jamaican capital are expected to go on sale in June at www.jetblue.com, subject to receipt of government operating authority. JetBlue Adds Tampa Route at Westchester County Airport

JetBlue Airways will expand its presence at Westchester County Airport near White Plains, N.Y., this winter, growing to become the airline with the most seats to the most destinations as it begins nonstop service to Tampa, Fla., and adds more flights on routes to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Palm Beach. JetBlue's added service to all four cities takes flight Nov. 2, bringing even more convenient and affordable service to Westchester County, Fairfield County, and Hudson Valley travelers just in time for the snowbird season. JetBlue will offer the following 11 daily departures from Westchester County Airport this winter: Fort Lauderdale (three daily flights), Fort Myers (one daily flight), Orlando (four daily flights), Palm Beach (two daily flights), Tampa (one daily flight).
