Soho Beach Club Opens in Miami
There’s another reason for you to go to Miami and celebrate the beach, the most beautiful people alive who just happen to be clad in bikinis, and the seemingly endless supply of sunlight. The Soho just opened its Beach House in Miami and it’s showing a lot of promise, so far.
Of course there’s a long waiting list (news: 750 people just got ahead of you) and a hefty fee ($1,500) for membership, but if you want the facilities bad enough, you can be a fortunate stranger and check in at the hotel. You’ll have to make a call for beach house reservations, though, because the last time we checked, the online reservation tool on the Soho Beach House website seemed to have done a Houdini on us.
The rates are listed, though, and they begin at a mere $400 a night. Of course, that’s only for the “side room” which is a humble but cozy 300 x 400 feet of space. If you want something more spacious, you’ll have to shell out $625 or more. That’s the starting rate for Beachside Rooms.
Best spots for stunning city views
A spectacular city view from atop a building is something that appeals to most people. In hotels, the room with a view commands a higher rate and yet they still attract the attention of lots of travelers. Perhaps man’s fascination with an aerial view of a city is brought about by one of the key aspects of life here on this planet: gravity.
We’re perpetually anchored to the earth, and that means being used to seeing cities from the ground up. Turn your gaze to the left or the right and you’ll see walls, buildings, trees, and other structures. But when you’re hundreds of meters off the ground, suddenly it seems that the whole world has opened up. Before you is a sprawling city, without borders, and only endless stretches of land and water as far as the eye can see. Sometimes, the view really can take your breath away.
Here are a couple of places you should definitely check out for some amazing city panoramas.
WHAT: SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE
WHERE: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
What’s great about climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is that not only do you get an amazing view of the city and the harbor, you experience the whole thing outdoors, with the wind blowing in your face and your toes tingling in anxiety. There are many climbs to choose from depending on your time frame and adventure level, but each one gives you a clear view of the opera house from on top, the ships coming in and leaving the harbor, and the busy streets in one of the prominent cities down under.
WHAT: SKY TOWER
WHERE: AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND
The island country of New Zealand is quite famous for its beautiful natural scenery. But make no mistake, New Zealand is also home to a modern, bustling city and there’s no better way to appreciate the view than going up the Sky Tower in Auckland. Travelers visiting the Sky Tower can actually hit two birds with one stone: aside from being treated to picturesque scenery, you can also sit at a table in one of the highest casinos in the whole world. If you’re looking for some adrenaline pumping activities, check out the Sky Jump and plummet a whopping 192 meters from above the ground.
WHAT: THE EIFFEL TOWER
WHERE: PARIS, FRANCE
Here’s a fun fact for our dear readers: the Eiffel Tower is actually the very first structure in the world that was built for the purpose of viewing a city from an elevated area or sightseeing, if you will. When it was built, Tour Eiffel, as the French call it, held the title of being the tallest building in the world. This icon is the target of more than 6 million tourists each year, which in fact earns it more recognition by being the most popular monument across the globe. If you’re ever in Paris, a trip to the Eiffel Tower is something that we think every traveler should take. From high up in the air you can see people in cafes, manicured lawns, couples engaged in an amorous embrace, and the City of Lights in all its splendor.
WHAT: TOP OF THE ROCK
WHERE: NEW YORK, USA
The city of New York is one of those places that has a surplus of skyscrapers. Granted, a lot of these places offer a scenic view of the city, but your best bet at getting a truly scenic view of Manhattan and the other boroughs would be a spot at the Top of the Rock located at the Rockefeller Center. This observation platform, situated a dizzying 259 meters off the ground reopened just a couple of years ago back in 2005 after being closed for renovation for almost two decades. The people behind the Top of the Rock spent US 75 million dollars to renovate the observation deck, and from the looks of things, we’re giving it a two thumbs up.
WHAT: TAIPEI 101
WHERE: TAIPEI, TAIWAN
Another Asian destination makes it to our list. This time, we’re taking you to Taipei 101 in Taiwan where only recently, it was knocked off the top of the world’s tallest buildings list by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. When the building was completed six years ago back in 2004, it stood 509 meters high, towering over all other skyscrapers across the world. But despite being knocked off the #1 position, you can’t argue with the astonishing view of the city when you’re standing at the observation platform located on the building’s 91st floor. At this height, you’ll feel like an ant on top of a bamboo tree staring at the vast expanse of the city around you. It is interesting to note that in 2004, Taipei 101 got the Guinness world record for having the fastest elevators (they better!).
WHAT: STRATOSPHERE TOWER
WHERE: LAS VEGAS, USA
There are a lot of attractions in Las Vegas that will definitely keep a person occupied and his thoughts from straying about. Casinos, hotels, bars, shows, restaurants—they’re all part of the package when you visit this city. But in case you weren’t aware of it, Sin City is home to the tallest freestanding observation tower that can be found in the entire United States. If you were mesmerized by the view from the ground, maybe it’s time you check it out from the Stratosphere Tower. Take a break from the poker table and marvel at this thriving metropolis in the middle of Nevada’s deserts. Look out over the blinking lights of the city and the sand dunes that surround it. If you’re up for it, try going on some of the highest thrill rides in the whole world and get on Insanity: The Ride; Big Shot; or XSCREAM.
WHAT: ORIENTAL PEARL TV TOWER
WHERE: SHANGHAI, CHINA
China’s efforts at keeping up with highly developed cities in other countries can be seen through the numerous buildings that are beginning to dominate the skyline of their major cities like Shanghai. In the city’s Pudong District stands the Oriental Pearl TV Tower which is undoubtedly the most prominent structure in the area. The building measures about 460 meters high, and is a fitting edifice in Shanghai’s business center. The modern design and funky colors give you an idea of the path that China is taking towards the future. Looking out the window, you can watch as the city buzzes around you; vessels ply the Huangpu River, cars go about the city streets, and somewhere nearby, construction for another building in the city is likely to start soon.
WHAT: SEARS TOWER
WHERE: CHICAGO, USA
The famous Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois may not necessarily be famous for having a beautiful and dramatic appearance, but this prominent landmark makes up for its lack in cosmetics by giving visitors a clear view of The Windy City that you can’t get anywhere else. When you visit the building, push the 103 button on the elevator to get to the SkyDeck and look out at the sprawling city before your eyes. Not only will visitors here be treated to a clear view of one of the most famous cities in all of United States, you can also see as far as Lake Michigan and out into Wisconsin and Indiana. Just think, somewhere out there, Oprah can be walking around with her best friend, Gayle.
WHAT: LONDON EYE
WHERE: LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
The London Eye is currently one of the most popular attractions in the United Kingdom these days. For those who are wondering what in the world the London Eye is, it is actually a humongous ferris wheel smack in the heart of the city. It is also referred to as the Millennium Wheel. Every day, hordes of tourists and local residents line up to get on the wheel and take a 30 minute ride in the air as they name the prominent city landmarks that start cropping up around them. The brightly lit wheel measures 135 meters high and is located across the river Thames. From the passenger car, you can see the House of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
WHAT: SINGAPORE FLYER
WHERE: SINGAPORE
Despite occupying an area smaller than other cities in its neighboring countries, Singapore owns the bragging rights for having the biggest observation wheel in the world today. The Singapore Flyer is so large that it beat its contenders London and China. Its height measures around 165 meters which is about as high as a building with over 40 storeys; and travelers who dare to conquer their fear of heights will be rewarded with a view not only of Singapore’s city proper, but also its neighbors specifically Malaysia to the north and Indonesia to the South East. The 360 view from atop the flyer is stunning during the day and even at night, when the city starts to turn on its lights and you look down on a glittering metropolis.
WHAT: CN TOWER
WHERE: TORONTO, CANADA
Back in the western hemisphere, we’re naming another record holder—the CN Tower located in Toronto, Canada. The tower holds the record of being the highest completed freestanding structure built on land. Its height measures more than 553 meters which means that visitors can look forward to an unobstructed view of the city below. For a scenic dining experience you can have a meal at the revolving restaurant right inside tower. Because it’s a popular destination for tourists, there are no less than three observation decks that you can check out. If you want to get that feeling of floating in the air, stare down at your feet and at the pavement hundreds of feet below while you’re in the glass elevator.
WHAT: SPACE NEEDLE
WHERE: SEATTLE, USA
If you’re in Seattle on the rare days that the skies are blue and it’s not raining, head up to the observation deck on the Space Needle and treat yourself to a scenic view of Seattle and the natural wonders that surround this city. See the clear waters at Puget Sound, watch as the Mt. Rainier grows from a white speck to a massive snow cone, and take in the sparkling waters of Lake Union. If the extreme height is making it difficult for you to see the objects on the ground, use your complimentary Swarovski Telescopes to enhance your view.
WHAT: BURJ KHALIFA
WHERE: DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Now standing proud as the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa is located in one of the busiest cities in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai. If you want to talk numbers, here are some statistics that might blow you away: its height measures over 800 meters; there are more than 160 floors in the building, the observation deck located at level 124; there are 57 elevators plus eight escalators used to shuffle guests up and down the building. You can even take a tour around the observation deck, which usually lasts an hour. From there, take in the view of one of the up and coming cities in the world today.
WHAT: TOKYO TOWER
WHERE: TOKYO, JAPAN
If you’ve always wondered what Godzilla’s view of Japan must be like, we suggest you make your way to the Tokyo Tower and check out their observation deck. If the day is clear, visitors can even see as far as the snow capped peaks of Mt. Fuji.
WHAT: INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION
WHERE: IN SPACE!
Okay, okay. This may not exactly be the most accessible place you can get to, but we just can’t help putting it on our list because of the fact that from the station’s observation deck, you get a panoramic view not just of a single city, but of Earth itself. If you want a view of the entire Sahara desert, just come aboard! (or maybe we’ll just settle for a picture)

6 of the Most Lavish Homes in the World
You could definitely get used to these top-of-the-line luxury homes. Too bad only a select few can afford them, but if they’re up for viewing, a peek shouldn’t hurt. Below is a list of the most luxurious homes not just in the U.S.A. but around the world. Look at what you’re missing.
Mumbai’s first Billion Dollar Home
Believe it or not, the most lavish home around the world is not in the U.S.A. but in India. You can find this treasure at Antilla, Mumbai, owned by no one less than the fifth richest man on the planet: Mukesh Ambani. How did this palace happen? Mukesh Ambani just happens to own one of the most prominent petrochemical companies in India: the Reliance Industries. Thanks to this company, he is safely insured with $43 billion worth of assets.
Not only that, this man is also about to own the skyscraper that has people talking in town. This particular skyscraper is the first home built here that’s worth $2 billion. He doesn’t want his wife to live any less like a queen while the construction is going on so Nita Ambani is checked in at the Mandarin Hotel of N.Y.C.
The Mrs. was impressed with Mandarin’s Asian doors so she told us that she wanted something similar incorporated into their Billion Dollar home. When a home is based on a hotel, two things are expected. The Billion Dollar home in India is now the most expensive and the biggest house the world has ever seen. It would have 27 stories, and each floor would be built according to the specifications of the extravagant couple.
With every story looking like an independent home on its own, the cost escalates to how much it would take to build twenty seven different properties. It doesn’t matter because the couple has the means for it. The lucky contractor for this one-of-a-kind project is the Hirsch Bedner Associates and they promise that the property is going to be an eye candy for anyone who are fortunate enough to view its interior.
England’s Updown Court
Worth at least $150 million today, the Updown Court in England remains among the most significant private homes in the United Kingdom.
It has been regarded as so since the 19th century, and you’ll recognize it as soon as you come across its huge palatial iron gates. This is a short 25-mile drive from London, and it shares the neighborhood with Elton John and the Queen of England.
Among the most lavish features of the home are the 24-carat leafing on its study’s mosaic flooring, the five swimming pools that surround the property, the tennis court, squash court, bowling alley, and screening room which can seat 50 guests, a marble driveway which is also heated, a helipad, and an underground garage which currently houses eight limousines.
The property is currently listed with the Savills and Hamptons International. Even if you’re not of royal lineage, as long as you have the dough for it, you can live just like, if not more extravagantly than, royalty.
Versailles, Florida’s Biggest Mansion
Third on the list is the Versailles mansion in Florida which has 30 bedrooms—more than enough for a resort. It can also function like one if the owners wished because it has its own bowling alley, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and its own roller-skating rink. Certainly, it’s the biggest home built within the U.S.A.
The catch is that it’s still not done. Reports say that there’s still 18 whole months of work to be accomplished on the mansion. The construction started three years ago, funded by time share tycoon David Siegel and his wife Jacqueline who used to be a beauty queen.
So far, the property is already worth $75 million. According to reports, at least $25 million is needed for the property to be finished. This magnanimous house doesn’t just have 30 bedrooms. There are also 23 bathrooms built on it, special handmade windows, a ballroom, and a theater for children. One of the windows of the house provides what today is probably the best view of Lake Butler.
The garage can fit 20 cars, the property has its own boathouse, an entire baseball field, at least 2 tennis courts, manicured formal gardens, and a gatehouse with its own apartment. There’s not one but two grand staircases, a Grand Hall that’s at least 60 by 120 foot wide, a stained glass dome that’s 30 sq. feet and a wine cellar with two stories.
It also has three spas which can be found behind the curtain of an 80-foot high waterfall. Each of the 23 bathrooms is a full bathroom with its own Jacuzzi, and the property is aptly named Versailles because it’s frontage is a close replica of France’s Palace of Versailles.
Mariah Carey’s Flor de Lys in Beverly Hills
Actually owned by Mariah Carey and not just a backdrop for her beautiful legs, the Flor de Lys is the fourth most extravagantly lavished mansions in the world. It’s built right at the heart of Beverly Hills which means that aside from the generous trimmings of this palace, it’s also rooted on prime land. The asking price for this treasure is $125 million, and it covers a sprawling five acres of land.
Just like the mansion-in-progress we’ve mentioned earlier, the diva’s crib was also modeled after the Palace of Versailles. Hugging the mansion are hectares and hectares of manicured lawn, trees, ornamental (pricey) gardens, a tennis court that can play host to a championship game any day, and garden folly.
The property also has its own pool and spa in a private pavilion, as well as a manager’s and staffer’s quarters big enough to house ten people.
Godfather Mansion of Beverly Hills
Otherwise called the Hearst Mansion, the Godfather Mansion in Beverly Hills is next to the diva’s mansion in terms of extravagance. While the Godfather mansion’s asking price is higher at $165 million, the styling details are just a bit humbler than Mariah Carey’s palace. It was formerly owned by the famed tycoon William Hearst, and the statues that you see outdoors were imported from the Hearst Castle itself.
The property has 29 bedrooms, tennis courts, three swimming pools, a cinema theater, a nightclub, life-size paintings of Betty Davies, and a quirky H-shape structure. Hearst first acquired the property in 1947 at $120,000. It was bought by someone else in 1976, and has been put up again for sale in 2007.
Should you be able to afford this home, you’ll be rubbing elbows with celebrities like Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and the Beckhams.
Florida’s Acqua Liana Mansion
Celebrated as the most luxurious mansion standing, to date, the Acqua Liana was designed by the famed Frank McKinney. This property sprawls for a total of 15,000 sq. ft. and is a proud “eco-mansion” inspired by the artist’s trips to Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, and Bali.
It’s a humble 7-bedroom palace with 11 bathrooms, a “wet bar” (an aquarium that curves to double as a bar table), solar panels (it does have to be environmentally-friendly and not just eco-inspired), and a water system which collects and treats the property’s run-off water to supply the water of its pool for at least two weeks.
The mansion is also claimed to have a highly efficient lighting system which cuts of electric usage by up to 70 per cent. While it’s still a lavish mansion, the Acqua Liana seems to have been built with more environmental concern than the rest.

15th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Continues Through Nov. 14
Top 6 Golf Courses for a Tee Party
Golf has been around for ages, and for a sport that seems just a tad calmer than all the other ball games, it’s still pretty popular. We believe it’s more than just the social status that comes with the territory. It must be all that green, and the way the fairways just seem to take every stressor out of the picture. Below are the top six golf courses you should visit in this lifetime.
Top 1: Pine Valley Golf Club
Location: Clementon, New Jersey
Specifics: Par 70 ~ 6,755 yards; Crump/Colt (1918)
The Pine Valley is the Holy Grail equivalent for golfers simply because it’s quite a challenge to locate and the property itself is exclusive. You’d have to go through a lot of pins and needles just to play here unless of course you’re a VIP. This golf course is located in the Pine Barrens in New Jersey, and those who were lucky (and experienced) enough to play in its fairways claim that it’s the world’s best golf course to date.
The golf course was founded in 1913 and it started off with only 184 acres. Later on, 416 acres of woodlands, which add sheer vibrancy to the place, was bought by the property owners.
Top 2: Cypress Point Club
Location: Pebble Beach, California
Specifics: Par 72 ~ 6,536 yards; Mackenzie (1929)
Even if you’re not familiar with the golfing world, you would have heard about the Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach. It’s one of the most mentioned golfing destinations in the movies, media, etc. and you can be sure that it’s not overrated. This is also one of the most private golf courses in the world, so once you have a chance to play in its green, try not to miss it. You might not get the chance again.
Aside from the exclusivity, the golf course also gives you a prime vantage point of the Pacific Ocean. What else can you expect from a golf course that’s located at Big Sur, California? The Cypress Point Club boasts of an 18-hole golf course designed by the famed Alister Mackenzie who was also responsible for the Augusta National Golf Club.
Top 3: Muirfield Village Golf Club
Location: Gullane, Scotland, United Kingdom
Specifics: Par 71~7,221 yards; T. Morris (1889)
Of course, this won’t be a list of the most beautiful golf courses if we ignored Scotland. The Muirfield Village Golf Club has been home to the world’s pioneering community in the sport. It’s definitely one of the oldest, most well kept golf courses in the world, having been open since 1744. Of course the improvements it underwent over 200 years later were pretty dramatic.
Historically, the golf course is also very iconic. This is where the famous Jack Nicklaus attained his very first British Open. Located near Edinburgh, a good number of golfers also consider the golf course a fine test of their skills in the game.
Top 4: The Old Course in St. Andrews
Location: St. Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom
Specifics: Par 72~7,279 yards
Any serious golfer wouldn’t let his/her lifetime pass without setting foot and playing at the Old Course of St. Andrews, Scotland. In terms of fame and popularity, this golf course certainly takes the trophy. The game has been played in these greens since the 15th Century, so you can just imagine the historical and sentimental value of the place. For something that’s literally ancient, the patch of grass is impressively well-kept.
Aside from the impressive greens of the Old Course, St. Andrews is also home to four other 18-hole golf courses and one more 9-hole course. There is also a practice center for beginners who would like to try their swings first before playing out in the open.
The good news is that all of these golf courses are open to the public (which probably explains St. Andrews’ fame) but there’s a slight setback. You will have to make reservations if you want to play here. Among all of the golf courses, the Old course is the toughest. This particular golf course is set in the dunes of the North Sea. If you don’t think you can play like the great Tiger Woods, you might want to start with the Strathtyrum course first.
If you’re a beginner, or if you’re playing with children, the nine-hole golf course (Balgrove) is recommended.
Top 5: Pebble Beach Golf Links
Location: Pebble Beach, California
Specifics: Par 72~6,737; Neville/Grant (1919)
The Pebble Beach Golf Links might have missed the top spot among the most beautiful golf courses in the U.S.A. but it certainly is the most popular. Like its more exclusive counterpart, the Cypress Point Club, it boasts of a fine view of the Pacific Ocean. While it’s true that the golf course’s narrow fairways are tough to complete, it will do you good to take a short breather. The view of the horizon is always spectacular.
It’s no wonder people keep on coming back to this golf course to play the game. Watch out for the view once you reach the 18th hole. Don’t get too distracted, though, because at this point, the wind’s bound to play tricks on you. Make sure that you pick the right club so you can make the hole with a clean shot.
Top 6: Royal Melbourne Golf Club
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Specifics: Par 72~6,598 yards to the East; 6,589 yards to the West; Mackenzie/Russel (1926)
The sixth most beautiful golf courses in the world is located in Melbourne, Australia. The Royal Melbourne Golf Club boasts of two 18-hole courses running opposite each other. The 18-hole golf course to the East is slightly larger than its twin to the West, but both are tourney-ready. In fact, the Royal Melbourne Golf Club (which is the most exclusive golf club Downunder) plays host to the major golf events in the country.
It was also the site of the Canada Cup, having been around since 1959. The Canada Cup is what we know now as the World Cup.

Top 7 of the Oddest Prisons in the World
While we don’t suppose you’ll be taking a tour around these odd prisons anytime soon, a glimpse of them makes for a fun read. Below are the seven strangest rehabilitation/prison camps you’ll find in the world.
Top 1: Bolivia’s San Pedro Prison
This prison doesn’t look like a prison at all. It’s really more of a community or a small town which keeps criminals from mingling with the rest of society, but which doesn’t isolate them in a gray concrete barren hole with bars. Here, prisoners will have to work (either selling groceries or making something useful) if they want a roof over their heads.
The point is to let prisoners learn to make their lives useful by letting them earn their own cells. At the end of their stay, they might actually miss the community. Hopefully, they don’t try to commit another felony just because they’re homesick.
Top 2: Cebu Prison
Popout
Music tames the monster, as the old adage goes. In Cebu, prison authorities thought their inmates should have some physical activities, but unlike other jails where basketball and push-ups seem to be enough, Cebu’s prison requires music and dance. Videos if these dancing inmates have been going around Youtube that they’re now pretty world-renowned. Apparently, they enjoy this too, and even make a living out of it.
Sometimes, the inmates perform for charity, and sometimes they perform for major events in Cebu, Philippines. When they have a generous donor, these inmates are compensated for their talents. Never mind that some of these dancing inmates were serial killers or bank robbers, hey, they could dance, and they sort of rocked in their orange jumpsuits. The video above involves the crew of Michael Jackson flying in to dance with the inmates for an official music video.
Top 3: Austria’s 5-star prison
There has been an influx of burglary cases in Austria, and we suspect that it’s because of theJustizzentrum. This is a 5-star prison which really looks more like an office building than a prison. If you want to stay in a hotel for free in Austria, perhaps you should just get involved in a petty crime like burglary, and you’ll be earning yourself a few days’ stay there without being penalized so much.
As a matter of fact, if you’re smart, you will try to shoplift a computer screen and walk very slowly to the store door. When they talk to you, confess, and you can be sure that you’ll be off the streets and have a roof over your head—right in that posh little building they call the prison, of course.
Top 4: Russia’s Kresty Prison
Have you ever imagined just being allowed 15 minutes to take a shower every single week? If you think that’s stringent, how about standing on only 4 small square meters of private space? Russia doesn’t do this to its inmates because the government is cruel. It’s because they have no choice but to do this. The Kresty Prison is considered the most overcrowded penitentiary in the world.
The building’s capacity is actually only 3,000, but the average population of the prison house is more than double at 10,000. If the building doesn’t collapse because of the weight, inmates will probably die of suffocation because it’s so crowded inside, oxygen’s bound to run out. Of course, the Russian government did promise to relocate the prison, after which the Kresty will be converted into a shopping mall.
Top 5: Guernsey’s Sark Prison
In a little island called Sark in Guernsey is also a little prison which can fit only two people. This prison is so small that it’s reportedly the smallest prison in the world. The longest that felons are allowed to stay here is overnight. For crimes that are more serious, the island’s felons are transported to a “big boy” jail cell where there’s more space and possibly tougher bars.
Despite its size, Sark prison continues to be in use, and the sign on top of the door says it’s been there since 1856.
Top 6: Super Maximum Security (ADX) in Colorado, U.S.A.
This prison is unusual if only because the security here is unusually tight. As the name suggest, it’s where the worst felons of the U.S.A. are detained, and just to give you an idea on how life usually goes here, each inmate is only allowed nine hours out of their cells. They are not allowed to interact with each other or anyone at all, during their stay here, and they have to do everything, even their toilet habits, inside the cells.
The toilet bowls are also programmed so that they shut down when anyone attempts to plug it. The showers in the cells are set to run for 15 minutes only so there won’t be any danger of flooding. The guards in this penitentiary are highly trained, and they take anything—from pens to toothbrushes—from the inmates if they suspect that it’s going to be used as a tool for escape.
The furnishings in the cell are made from concrete. Everything is gray, and it’s going to be close to impossible to move anything in the space even if one of the inmates tried. If you’re a milder felon, your worst fear should be interacting with inmates who have more serious crimes than you. It’s an entirely new world in here, giving the world “prison” a totally new meaning.
Top 7: Spain’s Aranjuez Prison
Spain is very worried about the children in their country whose parents have been imprisoned. With that in mind, they’ve allowed children to grow up obliviously to the realities of a real prison. Inmates who have children in Spain are lucky because they will probably be transferred to the Aranjuez Prison where they can be with their families most of the time.
At the encampment where small children and the inmate’s better half stay, you’ll see white walls lined with murals of cartoon characters. Cozy is a good word to describe the habitat. This way, children won’t have to notice that their parents are imprisoned criminals until they’re old enough to understand the consequences.
We’re guessing that Spain is trying to lower the crime rate by giving an inmate’s offspring a shot at having a normal, if not happy, childhood.
